This qualification reflects the role of support workers who
complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either
in residential, home or community-based environments. Workers will
take responsibility for their own outputs within defined
organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery
through the development, facilitation and review of individualised
service planning and delivery.
Workers may be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited
responsibility for the organisation and the quantity and quality
of outputs of others within limited parameters.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed
at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment
Requirements of the units of competency.

This course is delivered face-to-face in a classroom-based
setting, as well as through structured self-study. All
classroom-based training will take place at the Australian
National Education.
The timetable for this course will be
advised in your Offer Letter and Student Agreement.
You are required to attend classes for 14 hours per week, as well
as complete 6 hours of structured self-study per week for 40 study
weeks (4 terms of 10 weeks each). Holiday breaks are as indicated
in your timetable.
Class sessions include a mix of theory and practical activities
with a focus on creating a real-life workplace.
In addition to classroom based learning and structured self-study,
you will also need to complete approximately 5 hours of
additional, unsupervised study per week including general reading
and research for assessments
