  • notify to ANE College of your residential address within 7 days of arriving in Australia
  • meet your course requirements, remain enrolled and maintain satisfactory attendance and course progression
  • stay within the visa limit on working hours while studying
  • maintain adequate health insurance for visa holders for the whole of your stay in Australia, and
  • not over-stay your visa period in Australia.
  • ANE College recommend that you lodge a complete Student visa application at least eight weeks before your course commencement date.

Living Costs

  • International students who are able to demonstrate a financial capacity of $29,710 are better placed to ensure their focus remains on their studies and are less likely to find themselves in financial distress once in Australia. This will also reduce the likelihood of students breaching their visa conditions by working in excess of the hours they are permitted to work or being vulnerable t o worker exploitation.
  • Knowing the average living costs in Australia is an important part of your financial preparation. To get a better idea, check out Study Australia’s handy Cost of Living Calculator: Living and education costs | Study Australia

Student Accommodation

  • Many international students stay in short-term accommodation while they become familiar with their new city and meet potential housemates, including hotels, hostels and other temporary options. ANE College will be able to offer advice and support in finding appropriate accommodation.
  • Renting a house or apartment: You can rent or ‘lease’ a property by yourself or with friends. This can be done through a real estate agent or privately (renting directly from a landlord/owner). Ref link for real estate agency: Domain.com.au | Real Estate & Properties For Sale & Rent ,Search for Real Estate , Property & Homes - realestate.com.au
  • It is common for international students to live with other students in order to make living costs more affordable. There are often rental and share house options posted on boards at your education institution or at sharehouse websites such FlatmateFinders.com.au or Share Accommodation | Flatmates.com.au
  • If you rent a house or apartment, you will need to pay a security deposit or ‘bond’ (which is usually equivalent to four weeks’ rent). You will also need to pay some rent in advance (usually to cover the first four weeks of your tenancy). This money is held by the relevant state government department in every Australian state or territory. It is important for you to know your rights before you start looking for a rental or sharehouse.
